Their high content of cholesterol-free protein makes them an ideal food that can replace meat during the fasting period and beyond. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">A fantastic soup that the modern Greeks avoid, as they avoid its two basic ingredients, snails and oatmeal. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">And yet both are very healthy and very nutritious. The Pontians (Black seaGreeks) know this, as do many cavalrymen who continue to eat them, and we may help to preserve and revive popular cooking and 20px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">When they come out of their shell, turn on the stove over low heat and let them boil for about half an hour.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-2323-step-0-3\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Strain and wash very well.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-2323-step-0-4\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">In a deep pan put the oatmeal and add boiling water until it is covered.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-2323-step-0-5\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Leave it for 15-20 \u0301 to inflate and soften. Squeeze it with your hands andit is ready to use.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-2323-step-0-6\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">In another pot, pour the oil, the onion, the garlic, and the spring onions and fry them altogether.<\/span><\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-2323-step-0-7\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\"><span style=\"display: block;\">Add water, snails and all other ingredients except spices.9. Let simmer for 25-30 \u0301.10.
